Default Aftermarket Cd player question....

I have a aftermarket pioneer headunit and i thought that when you put your key in the ignition on acc or crank your car the radio suppose to come on by itself not actually cutting the radio on manually....i also have to set my settings everytime i get in the car...i have the memory wire connected to the red (power)wire hooked together but this doesn't change anything...is there something im missing or anything you can give me info to help with this problem thank you

Wrong forum. Did you use an aftermarket harness or did you chop up the wires?

there should be a power wire that just get power when you turn your key on, but the memory wire should be to a wire that has constant power, as to save your settings.

like grumblemarc said, you use a harness or cut your wires?

you gotta tap into the ACC wire, which I think is yellow, which gets the power when key is on, and the solid red wire should be constant power, but really you could tap into any wire that only gets power when the car is on

Don't quote me but if you used a harness the yellow and red wires are backwards on it. If you cut you wires shame on you for not respecting your ride enough.

You have it backwards. Yellow is constant power and red is ACC.

black = ground, black on aftermarket

red/black = power antenna, blue on aftermarket

the rest are + and - terminals for the speakers
