Post Up Pictures of Your Air Pumps/Compressors
I'm not sure where the best place for this is, it was between this and the body section but then I saw folks painting their cars with rollers so my thought that everyone there had air was negated.
Let's see what kind of air compressors / tools you all have. I built this one out of harbor freight 5HP V Twin air pumps on top of a Sears 60 gallon tank ;-).
See, I do alot of painting. One day I had a 5 color paint job that required me to switch back and forth quite a bit. So I mixed up all five colors and got started. Shortly there after my cheese Sears oilless V-Twin threw a rod across the shop. Needless to say, the paint cured to the point of being unsprayable before I could get a replacement. So, from then on I decided I needed a dual head pump. This one has 2 220V Single Phase 5HP motors (10HP total) driving the two pumps to 150 PSI. It's a single stage system. The pumps can be run simultaneously or independently. It brings the tank from 0 PSI to 150 PSI in less than 2 minutes. Its close to about 35 CFM at 140PSI. I have tweaked the pumps a bit to get them to flow as best they can buy cleaning up the valves and valves seats which were pretty rough. I also used slightly strong, thinner head gaskets. The system uses unloader genies to vent the fill pipes before startup. This way the motors don't have to turn against tank pressure during startup. I was surpised at just how good the HF pumps are - very robust and no sign of failing at all. THe electric motors are two different types. One is GE and the other is WEG with nearly identical specs. The WEG motor is much much better than the GE. I am constantly playing the with the centrifugal clutch switch on the GE because the switching system between the start and run capacitors sticks and blows the breakers constantly. If it wasn't for that small problem this setup would be flawless. I've already ordered a WEG replacement for the GE - which is actually a Chinese motor. Take my world for it, WEG motors are excellent.
This setup keeps up with any air tools I have - even with blow guns at max pressure w/ regulator maxed. It fills the tanks faster than they can be emptied by opening up all outlets including the drains on the tank and the 2 regulators as well as the 1/2 valve from draining the delivery pipe.

Thank you captain obvious! Did you read the first sentence...? I'm guessing not. I'll be happy to post it somewhere else if there's a place more appropriate; I couldn't really see where that would be. You got a better idea or is the cold rain just making you grumpy?
If you are working on your car often, then chances are you are in possession of an air compressor wouldn't you say? Especially if you are ripping your motor apart every weekend.
I see now there is a MISC/TECH section - My bad for missing that the first time around. Wouldn't it have been more productive to simply say that than to be a condescending tool?
*** Can one of you fine moderators please move this thread over there for me? I don't want to keep confusing kyden. ***

Well that thing looks like a mess, just my first thought.
I feel like a tool section would be beneficial/bad. Theives troll these forums and If they can locate a car they can locate the tools use on it, which usually means getting INSIDE your home...not good. Personally I would never share my tools as they are my dads I mainly use, and a 10k snap-on box is nothing to put pics up and flaunt.
