Request Before and After tune with new cam
As the topic says I'm kinda curious on what a stock engine tune looks like, in comparison to that same engine tuned after a cam has been placed in it.
Also my friend in DSM land has a cam that's about a little bit aggressive that it changes the idle, as I was messing around with his dsmlink software I had noticed his base timing was some stock value and I increased it by 4-6 degrees over stock "Because I like to screw with stuff that isnt mine" and his car seems to idle a ton better.
which leads me to the next topic when switching cams is there some rule of thumb associated with idle ignition values in relation to how aggressive the cam is? It seems to me since the cam has a much more aggressive ramp up rate, that you could get away with a higher ignition value other then 16 degrees.
Any thoughts? comments? what you had for lunch today?

Your best bet is to download the Hondata software. They have a multitude of tunes to check out from stock, to cams, to super/turbochargers. Should help get you in the right direction.
BTW, the base timing in the software should reflect the advance at the distributor for things to jive correctly... and messing with the base timing that much is a lot. It may idle better but be sure to listen to it and check the plugs for any hints of detonation after some serious part throttle load or extended WOT.
