Here's crossing fingers...
Well, msnbc has since changed the content of the story to:
Great...

This.
If it gets an Si powerplant for about the same as an Si sedan, I'd definitely go buy one.
Hell, they should do a CRZ-R. Factory lightweight. Red Seats, the whole riceboy treatment. I'd be all over that.
I'll believe it when I see it. Here's to hoping for a 1.6L turbocharged engine for the "Si" version of the CRZ.
The Power of Dreams....

So a lot of rumors are going around about a conventional engine being an CR-Z option in the near future. Me thinks that an information embargo was overlooked with the deployment of that first article...
I would seriously think about buying a conventionally-engined CR-Z with actual back seats instead of that tray thing.
They should just use the same range of engines as the incoming 2011 Civic. Hybrid and Si priced about the same and then a couple grand less for a base car.
Definitely needs a factory lightweight package though, available as special order with any engine package.

How great would it be to own a lightweight optioned k24 equipped CR-Z?
They definitely need to add more sportiness to the lineup. The only car that does that right now is the Si. I know the enthusiast market isnt huge compared to the regular car like Accord and Civic, but Im pretty sure a bare version of the CRZ with a K or similar powerplant with around 200hp would sell like crazy. They need to bring back the R spirit.
I'd sell two of my CRXs for that one.
Honda has nothing to go against the Fiat 500 and the slew of small cars that will eventually get here if gas prices keep going up.
I'm still lost on why hasn't there been a SI Honda fit since sales of sport models have been so good.
I guess Honda needs another company to do something first before they pull the trigger

think about the company thats making the car.
its not going to have a k series.
my money is on it having an L15. R18 at the MOST or in the "sport" model. if they even bother with that.
i love honda, but im just being realistic

I'm thinking we won't see the K series either. Face it...Honda just doesn't want to bring any performance oriented cars to the US. This might explain why I'm looking at ITRs again.
that article has a 100 % truth rate.....hondas going to the dogs......the k series WILL not make it into anything we hope like the fit or the crz......the controversal motor will not happen so please people dont get your hopes up....on top of which im sure honda will jack the price up of the "contriversal crz"....my dealer jacked the price up of a fit with mugen parts almost 4 grand.....wont handle better, wont be faster, just looks good....hate to say it....hondas truely losing its edge.......
