So I'm about to do a color change on my CRX (from red to blue). This is a racecar so we aren't going to spend any extra to have the paint shop do the door jambs/underhood etc.

Before the car goes in for paint I will be swapping the doors out for another set in better condition. At that time it would be pretty easy for me to spray the door jambs myself in black.

Any suggestions on good durable paint? Rattlecan? POR-15? What about gloss vs flat black?

 

when i had my car painted i rattle canned the door jambs flat black, car was painted blue. looked really cool in my opinion, wasn't super durable though. but hey, its spray paint, you can fix it any time for $1.

 

if your gona rattlecan it, use duplicolor black like you find in pepboys, and use clearcoat in a can as well, that will help protect it.

 

anything they use to spray truck beds, rhino liner, ruberized paint sounds like a good idea
you can find it all in stores too
