wow. ummm...can I suggest that maybe its time for an upgrade...if you are gonna drop a G on a stock non-VTEC motor I say hit up hmotorsonline.com and look around...
they currently have the following you might want...
K20A $900
D15B $599
B18B $749
K20A4 $800

so they quoted me 750 for motor then 138 for shipping to the shop. the good thing about them is that its a 6000 mile or 6 month warranty as with the shop it was only a 100 day warranty.. the shops also charging me 800 to install. I found a motor for 450 from a dismantler out here that also comes with 100 day warranty but they have no idea how many miles are on it. Wish I had the tools and everything to do this myself

Where are you located? $750 for a D series engine, I feel is to high.
Hell you could a LS or B20 for that.

i don't think ive ever paid over 500 for a d series motor. hell i just picked up a bare k24 no accessories or anything for 550. paying for shipping sucks your better off looking for something local and picking it up. swapping this yourself would be your best bet even though most warrantys may be voided. goodluck

Yeah...non-vtec d? 1000? No way.

There's so many more options.

Swapping a d isn't really a big deal either...especially if you're getting an exact replacement and not going from non-vtec to v-tec or something. Just color code everything on the engine side...and the harness/vac and coolant line side...and everything else there's really only one place you can put it...i.e. axles etc.

1000 should be like a complete d-series setup to include transmission, new axles, ecu, harness...all kinds of goodies. What all is included in it?

Where in Cali are you? Why are you tossing another motor in, did you blow your current one?

I would say to buy a used motor off Craigslist or HT from a legit seller and just forget about the mileage. You should be able to find a D16y7 or y8 for around $500 for the complete swap...yes, I have seen them for this price.

If you had the tools and the space I would suggest finding a 97-00 donor car and sell the parts you dont need. I did that with a 98 GSR and ended up getting my perfectly good swap for $1k

D16y8 = Vtec motor.
I bought mine off a seller on craigslist that still had it in his Del Sol. checked it out and he started it up. ran fresh. bought it next day and installed it myself.

I: Removed my old motor and tranny, unbolted the tranny, swapped a few sensors, changed the engine harness and plugged it in, hooked up the tranny, put everything in the car and had it running in 6 hours.

where in cali do you live? maybe i can help out
