OK I have acquired a 1991 Honda civic Hatch.. previous owner swapped in a D16y5 with 5spd but left the dpfi. I have come across a mpfi manifold and im looking to do the swap but my question is what ecu will run this y5 properly as i know its a vtec-e motor and its origin is obd2 so original ecu is out of the question.. is there a alternate choice? i have googled this many hours with no real answer..

 

A chipped p28 with jumper harness. And look up how to do dpfi to mpfi swap. A lot info on how to do the swap

 

I vote if your set on keeping OBD0, then PM6 or PM8 (HF). However, it would be best to swap the head to run the PM6. -Later, BR

I would also do as tony said and go with the chipped P28. $175 and it will open up a lot of tuning capabilities.
