will my 1994 accord ex sedan fit an accord v6 engine
I have a 1994 accord ex sedan and it is very clean and very reliable but has a lot of miles on it and i was wondering if it was even possible to fit an accord v6 vtec engine in it? Or what engine would be best for a swap? I'd hate to get rid of the car because it's in absolutely immaculate condition...plus i just paid a bunch on spectre build it yourself intake. And how hard would it be to put a manual transmission in? (it's an automatic right now). Cost?
Why on earth would you want that?
I'm assuming in your mind you are thinking the J series motors the guys with Civics use? The CD chassis came with a C series V6 but it was heavy without much more power and has practically 0 aftermarket parts. Also the front end of the car was extended to accomodate the engine.
So short answer is no, that is a horrible idea and not worth the time/money to do it. If you just want more power and what not, there other options but you should SEARCH the forums for those answers.

okay so the h22a is obviously the best choice here, but i was wondering what exterior mods i can do for cheap without looking too ricey...and do eyebrows block headlight vision?
The 97-99 3.0CL more or less uses the same chassis as the 5th gen Accord and came with the J30. The engine bay is different, so if course it requires custom motor mounts. Actually, there's a guy putting a J32 into 4 cylinder CL right now, so it's certainly possible. Even if the Accord engine bay is smaller than the CL's, there are J swaps going into 5th gen Civic's every day. If it fits in the Civic, it will fit in the Accord.
If you were to do this swap, you'd want the J32 with a 6 speed manual trans. The auto trans in the 1st gen CL, 6th gen Accord and 2nd gen CL were prone to failure. I haven't seen anyone successfully mate a 6 speed to the J30, so the 3.2 would be the better choice.
It's going to be an expensive swap due to fabrication and labor cost, since I doubt you're going to do it yourself. If you wanted to keep a/c and p/s it would obviously add to the final price. If you want a V6, it would be much cheaper and easier to buy an Accord that came with one from the factory.

Blazin, that CL though is probably more comparable to the 95-97 Accord V6 and not the base 4cyl models as the OP has.
Now, if you had one of those V6 models I could see the J32 being a bit more easier, 3 inches of room extra is really helpful!

Why all the I4 chassis V6 swap questions all of a sudden? Is there some video out there of some V6 front wheel drive Accord ripping up the streets? IMO an H22A with mods will beat most V6 swaps out there. Aside from a C32B....lol
Anyways, I was just stating that the J3x can be swapped into the smaller Civic, so the same must be said for the Accord. It would just take a lot work and make sure you're up to it before starting a swap like this.
I'm not sure that I follow you. Is the '94 base Accord not the same as the 95-97 4 cylinder? I know the V6 has a larger engine bay. All 1st gen CL's have the same dimensions. It's just the engine mounting points are different between the 3.0 and 2.2/2.3. This leads me to believe that the engine bay of 4 cylinder CL is larger than the 4 cylinder Accord.

I was suggesting the 3.0 CL (and I suppose all CL's if they are identical) share the same chassis with the 95-97 V6 model and that the 94-97 4cyl is different (smaller than the CL).
Oh ok, I understand. The CL's chassis could be much more like the V6 Accord's. There isn't much info on either one to really confirm it.
I do know that neither the 2.X or 3.0CL can accomodate the J32 with its larger intake manifold. The hood must be cut just like the Civic's and Integra's. A J30 IM can be used in it's place to keep the axles at a more proper angle while keeping the entire stock hood intact.
This may be a concern for anyone doing a J swap to their 5th gen 4 cylinder that wants to keep an stock-like appearance. If the engine bay is smaller than the CL's, even the less desirable J30 swap may require a cut hood.

It appears from your posts that you are eager to spend a few grand (If you want to swap a J-series or an H22a, that's a ballpark estimate) on bringing some more power to the front wheels. That's always a good thing, but there are a few things you should know about.
1) You should know the engine already under your hood can be boosted and make the same power or more for the same money.
NOTE: It could make a decent amount of N/A power too, but that's for more coin.
2) A J-series swap is great, but requires some extra work (as you can see in the information from TheMuffinMan and Blazin Si). Also they has less aftermarket support than other engines AND as GhostAccord mentions they can be outpowered fairly easily by boosted F-series, boosted H-series, and N/A H-series.
3) An H22a swap is basically the best all-around swap for the Accord. Gives you a nice amount of power in a stock engine, can get better mpg than the J swap, and isn't too expensive. Just keep in mind my first statement.
4) Be prepared to do some research. Don't go into this blind, that's how you break things and all the sudden your thinking "s#@t just got real."
Good luck with whatever you decide.
Yeah, I think it's mostly from new guys/gals and others who just haven't considered other options. It is nice to see nice J-powered rides doing their thing though.
it's more of an idea for when my stock f22 dies...which may never happen because it's in amazing shape...but i'm thinking dc headers, flowmaster exhaust, strut bars all the way around, eibach lowering springs, eyebrows, grille, debadged, and eventually carbon fiber hood. I don't like the idea of having a ricer tho...i'd rather have a sleeper. Any ideas for some serious hp with the f22? Turbo kits?
There are hundreds of boosted F builds on this forum and even more H22 swapped Accords. Stay a while look around, you'll be amazed what you can learn from reading other peoples build threads. There are some "how to do it" and some "how not to do it" threads are out there...lol
