Default Help on slick size for ALLmotor & nitrous

On my current 196whp 1.8L allmotor setup, I was using M&H 13x8x22 slicks. I ran a 12.80 @ 107mph with a 1.95 60'

The next event I installed the Z10 radius bars and had Skunk2 900lb springs in the back with the same slicks, I was hitting between 1.70-1.74 60's all day long. Unfortunately, my clutch was smoked during every run so I never got a decent time but was able to practise my launches. (How's 13.4 @ 93mph sound!!!!)

If you were to take into account that every tenth off of your 60' CAN and MIGHT equal 2 tenths at the end of the track, I MIGHT have been able to run as fast as 12.30-12.50, IF my clutch hadn't given up on me.

Next years setup is a 2 liter B18C (approx. 215whp in allmotor form) and I was wondering of the following slick sizes, which I should go with.

They are all M&H by the way....

13x8x22 (I already have)
13x8.5x24 (too tall????)
13x9x22 (leaning towards this size for some reason)
13x9.5x22 (too wide????)

On top of that 2 liter motor setup, I have a direct port setup for a 100 shot. I won't be spraying till at least 2nd gear (if not 3rd), so keep that in mind as well.

TIA

For 215whp/about 150ish whp, Id just stick with your current size. Work on cutting consistent 1.70's on those. Then maybe step up to 9" wide and cut 1.60-165's?

how do you like your current rpms when crossing the finish line?

Will the new motor be built enough to spin high enough?

What tranny are you running?

i think you can still do good with the 22x8x13.
i wouldnt go any wider on the slick.
some say the next step up for all motor slicks should be a 23" tall slick.
which right now only comes in a 15" rim(23x7.5x15)

at 215hp, you are not pushing that much HP to have to go to a 25" tall slick.
i think the 22x8x13 should still be doable for now.
but on nitrous, its a whole diff story. the 24.5x8.5x13 would be best with that 100 shot.

Wil
