Coolant leak
alright, here's the problem. coolant is leaking from somewhere on the back of the engine. sitting at idle, nothing. go for a drive and park it, pours out then stops. cannot pinpoint where the leak is coming from. any ideals? we're thinking maybe the water neck.
As the coolant heats up, pressure builds in the cooling system. This is normal btw. Use a mirror and flashlight to help look back there, or jack it up and look from underneath the car if that works.
1. clean off the area as best as you can. (It will be easier to see where its leaking)
2. Warm up or Drive car until coolant starts leaking.
3. Pull over and look at where it is leaking.
4. fix it
mechanics have a tool to pressurize the coolant system so they can see the leak while the car is cold. It makes it easier because everything is not scalding hot.

If it's coming from the back of the motor, I am assuming that is between the motor and the firewall.
If I am right, then I am going to think that it might be your thermostat? Maybe there's a crack or a crack in the hose?
I'm not too sure.

doubtful. the guy i bought it from had 0 problems with it. i even drove the car. had it tuned on the dyno and had 0 problems. now water pours out like a faucet, then stops after a couple minutes and nothing leaks at idle.

there's a coolnant hose that goes somewhere around the left side slightly lower than the intake manifold. tiny hose. check somewhere around there... that's where mine is.. I'm too lazy to fix it and i have no real problems because of it other than my coolnant leaking completely once a month lolz. i'll fix it eventually.
There are i believe 4 or 5 different spots that the leak could be coming from as far a hoses. I know i blew a hose on the right side of the intake. But yours is on the left side and there are three hoses that are right next to each other on the block that all pump coolant in or out. Any of these could be blown and then you also I believe have two hoses on the intake that come from the block. When one blows its really hard to see because it might just be a crack in one of the hoses. Just check all of these very well for cracks or splits.
I've blown out that U-shaped hose from the intake manifold to the engine multiple times. It usually only leaked after driving it good and then would spray the underside of the hood.
I'll tell you something I've done to find coolant leaks that you should NOT do. I've topped off my coolant system, then disconnected my fan, then waiting for my car to overheat at idle. Then the system builds up pressure and sprays out everywhere. This is dumb and if you let your temp needle get more than just barely past the middle and don't find it, you should quit and plug your fan back in. Do NOT drive it or put a load on it when it's hot.
