Horrible rattling noise.
So I have this rattle/clackity that sounds like it's coming from under the left fender. Like metal hitting metal. The wheel is tight and doesnt wobble, so I dont think It's a wheel bearing. Everything looks intact and doesnt feel loose under there. But when I get to around 40mph it starts out low, and after driving a while it starts at it real bad, almost constant. It's at it's worst at 55, and mellows out above that speed. I figured out that when I go straight it makes noise, and if I turn slightly right it inside the lane it makes noise. but when I turn slightly left inside the lane the noise stops instantly. When I decelerate it stops. I have no clue what the hell it is and it's annoying the **** out of me. Anybody have this problem? Or ideas?
It does sound like something is loose, but no there's no real shake or play in the steering. Nothing out of the norm. It doesn't affect my driving in any way, its just noise noise noise. I'm worried that whatever is making the noise is going to give out and something terrible might happen lol. Just sucks cus it's my daily.
Rotors/pads/calipers were all brand new and are hardly a year old. It isn't a clicking noise like a cv axle, i know what that sounds like. and as far as the dust guard goes, it seems to be all tight, and the sound is definitely metallic. I don't know if its just cus I'm concentrating on hearing the sounds that I kinda feel it in gas pedal. maybe I'm just going crazy cus it's annoying the **** out of me.

does it get worse with passengers in the car...ive been having a similar problem since 2007 and changed nearly everything on my front suspension...i noticed that both my front lca bushings are toast and just ordered some new moog lca's and am hoping that it solves my problem...!!!
actually to be honest, it gets better with some extra weight in the car! lol. When I've taken it to mechanics, and they drive it I can NEVER get it to make noise!! Just my luck. My car doesnt want it's problems fixed. lol
Let me know if you get it fixed and what you did!

well thats the only thing left to change out so hopefully it fixes it...i ordered both new front lca's and both end links so anything besides that left would be to swap out the subframe...!!!

Holy crap, haha. I hope we have the same problem, at least then I'd know what to tackle. Cus I just had my tranny completely rebuilt, my suspension is worn, my wheel hubs are fine, my axles are fine, and the brakes are new. So yeah I'm having a hell of a time. It's just so odd cus it's coming from the driver side. It's not center at all because Ive had a passenger in the car and she said that it sounded way over by me. Pissin' me off. It's been going on for like 4 months.
mine happens all the time but gets really bad with added weight...it also only happens when i accelerate but when i let off the gas you dont feel it...you can feel the nasty vibration in the steeeing wheel especially on the passenger side floor board...its obviously getting worse thats why i ordered new parts.
the car has new front uca's with balljoints, lower balljoints, wheel bearings, inner and outer tie rods with rebuilt manual rack and new rack end bushing, front brake pads, axles, front crossmember with radius rod bushings and wheel studs...still no solution

i once had a toyota where the caliper bolt fell out - not the pin, the bolt. that made a horrible racket. drove fine though. by the time i figured out the problem, the insides of the wheel was pretty scratched up! could it be that? you did do brakework, perhaps the bolt wasn't tight??
Yeah same, when you let off it disappears. I think I've been riding with it like this so long I've forgotten what normal feels like. But my ride has been pretty damn rough lately. Like it feel like you're riding on an old bumpy road, even if the road is in decent condition. lots of vibrating rough noise.
to boone: It's not the brakes, we did those at the house in february, and they stuck due to the brake master cylinder from advance auto, the cable going into it was a bit long causing it to bunch up and the brakes to stick so we had to space the cylinder from the booster itself with washers, so my calipers wouldn't stick, at the same time i have to press my pedal halfway down before my brakes really engage. haha
I will double check the brakes in the morning. Just in case, better be safe than sorry seeing a lot of people are point fingers at the brakes.
