Very annoyed - mounts dont fit :( (innovative)
Guys,
What the **** is going on here?
Bought this steel mount kit, supposedly locates the engine in the factory position with no axle bind...
But the mounts simply don't seem to fit!! The OEM bolts don't fit through the holes in them, and the holes/locations don't line up with the engine/gearbox mount...
the passenger side mount is too thin for the location in the engine bay, looks like it may move forwards and back in the location, perhaps it would pinch up though, but the rest of it doesn't get remotely close enough to fit.

I do have a 1st generation D-Series engine right?
Spent Ł180 on these and wasted a couple of hours taking the OEM mounts off

According to the part number on the box they are:

It says 'conversion mounts' but looking up the part number:
http://www.innovativemounts.com/Prod...ductCode=19151
No mention of 'conversion' there?

Oh ok, well to my understanding the mounts should be the same so I have no idea why they don't fit. Did you try contacting Innovative directly?

What do you make off the description on the box then? 88-91 Civic/CRX with D-Series Engine with Cable trans? That fits the description of my ED7 Honda Civic so surely the mounts have to fit!!!
To my understanding, the D16A8/9 is the same thing as a JDM DOHC ZC engine. As far as the JDM DOHC ZC it's a direct swap for USDM 88-91 Civic/CRX using the SOHC mounts. So, in theory, those mounts should be fine for your car unless the D16A8/9 uses slightly different mounts. I guess I (we) are going to learn something when this gets resolved.
FYI, in case you're unaware the US doesn't have a D16A8/9 available in any of our cars (all of our 88-91 civics are SOHC).

you have a dohc d series. im thinking if it was a sohc the mounts would fit. i dunno bout that trans mount being too thin tho. def gonna have to ask innovative. i dont get the conversion part of the mount description..what exactly is being converted here
The very last picture is the trans mount. You're using the wrong one. The very top picture is the rear motor mount, not the trans mount.
You def. Are miss matching your mounts, I have a 91crx w/a DOHC ZC..used that same kit and mouted everything in a 1-1/2! If you would like I would be willing to send you the pics for proper mounting?
You fail at installing mounts. Just like mybikeisblack stated, you're using the wrong mount in the wrong location. Not Innovative's fault that you're not very bright.
After looking at the three mounts on Innovative's site, I'd have to agree with the above. It looks like you are using one of the transmission mounts in place of the engine mount. Switch them and see if that works.
you need to change the post mount that goes on the motor problem fixed. Im talking about the one where the timing belt is
