Weber Carburetor Help
Ok so i got an 1982 civic 1300 non cvcc 4 speed stick **** with the basic factory engine which i believe is the EN1. And i want to put on the Weber Carburetor Conversion kit. So when i do how much horsepower will i gain? and will it do anything else for me performance wise? Also what about emissions? does it effect it all? any info would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Thanks
Emissions should be your FIRST check.. If you can't do swaps, you don't want to do all that work just to be told NO.
OR, if that's NOT a problem, look for a 1500 EN with the double dual exhaust port head or even better a 79-mid 80 accord EK (which will bolt to your trans)
Use the same accord clutch assy. (for the two step flywheel) Port the head, regrind the cam (shadbolt-Barry or Colt cams in Canada) to regrind one for you.
Weber conversion
Trans to look for is the GJ86xxxxxx found ONLY in the 80 civ 1300! Basically a close ratio 5spd with an overdrive with a 4.93 FD. I'm too lazy to look in my books to see what yours is. but it's probably a higher f/d to get it up and moving.
For suspension, look into fabbing up some coil-overs. The spring buckets on the 80's were HUGE.
Any 4x100 rim should work.
Find a 1500's knuckles with accord rotors/calipers. fab up some rear discs off of a 86 Prelude.
Or some 82/3 wagon pieces..
It all depends on how much you want to spend in money and time.. There are other mods too but I'm kinda tired.

WOW, i forgot to mention ANYTHING of the weber. So SORRY.
There are tons of webers out there. And a couple places on Ebay that sell everything you need for the conversion.
BUT if emissions are gonna kill you. DON't I've never had a weber pass..
BUT you can make it more driveable than that 3-barrel if it's messed with.
The floats usually fill up with fuel and flood it. Does it have the sight glass on the carb?
You will get rid of all those vacuum lines too.

I used a Weber Carb conversion and loved the results, cleaned up the engine bay, got rid of the junky stock carb, deletes all the emissions, and it ended up being a lot peppier. You can search for my username to see what I did with my 83. But dont expect a ton of horsepower unless you are planning building the whole thing with cam, exhaust, etc
ok thanks cause i was defintetly wanting to modify this engine cause i cannot afford any engine swaps at the moment also u mentioned some thing about exhaust modification... what r ur ideas on that id like to know thanks
