4WD Civic Wagon
Hey all, I'm new on here.
I'm interested in buying a 91 civic wagon 4wd. Has anyone on here had experience with them?
Are parts hard to find for them?
Are they hard to work on?
What kind of mpg would it get driven conservatively?
I'm not looking for one for the purpose of a fast road car but a light off road vehicle.

FS:1987 Honda Civic 5Dr Wagon RealTime AWD 5 Speed $650 (NY) I love the wagon... I own one but it is not an AWD....
parts are kinda hard to find if its part of the AWD drive train but you can find them but the engine is the same that's in hatchbacks and crxs so id say get it if its in good shape. just give it a good look over..
my father used to use one as a work truck had at-least 1000 pounds tools in it all the time and it still got good gas mileage. was a lil work horse and he took it off road a lot to fix tractors in fields and logging equipment. last 450,000 miles before original engine gave out

dont buy a rt4wd and take it off roading. theres many people on here that would die for an rt4wd to fix it up as a daily driver, not destroy it. get one thats completely rotted away or destroyed already for that
You'll love it. Some parts are hard to find, but they are Honda's so extremely reliable and it's a rarity that something breaks that would be hard to find. As long as it's mechanically sound when you purchase it then I wouldn't worry about it, but things like transmission, center viscous coupler, and rear diff can be tricky to find. Some junkyards want close to $1,000 for a 6 speed 4x4 trans. Gas mileage is amazing. I bought mine from an auction and it had been abandoned for 3-4 years prior. Put some fresh gas in it and drove it 300 miles home (through a mountain pass), got it up to 100mph once, average fuel economy for the trip home was a verified 33.4 mpg. With an Automatic transmission mind you.

Body parts are hard to come by. The front end is wagon specific and can't be swapped with any other civics. The headlights and bumper lights are the only things that can be changed. Check out hondacivicwagon.com and do some research before buying. They are a blast to have and by far the most comfortable civics to drive IMO.
^^^^^^^They do???? How so? The hatch has a filler piece, the crx's do not. The wagons and fodo's have a smaller filler piece that I still don't think interchange between the two, and none of the fenders line up with the front bumpers if you start mixing and matching
i beg to differ sir. you can put the si-r hatch bumper on the sedan, i got a few friends who did that on a wagon as well, and phive lug on the wagon...the sedan should be easier....if you wanna 5 lug he sedan, contact them.
google njcivicwagon1 and 2, both are straight bosses.

Maybe year specific than. I tried to use a lip for an 89 civic wagon bumper on a 91 hatch and it wasn't long enough. Had about two maybe two and a half inches of open space. That's in my experience though.
gotta trim son, also look on hondacivicwagon.com they got some **** i bet you never thought was possble. i used to own a wagon, should have never sold that ****. =[
