Keep the Civic and get the NSX when you're good and ready.

Are good examples of used NSXs out there? Yep, but you have to look and many times they come at a premium. But sometime the seller is motivated.

Performance parts are relatively easy to find. But OE parts will be getting semi-scarce. For example, OE "long" oil filters are no longer produced.

Fun to drive? It'll make you wish you sold your Civic.

Just get an OEM honda one. It's not the 'long' filter, but it's better than Fram or any of the other crap at Kragen. Not $99, thats rediculous.

Many people have stocked up on the long filter. However, the 91-95 Legend filter fits and is the defacto filter to use. It's just shorter. FWIW, I have an oil cooler and the sandwich adaptor requires me to use the Legend filter too.

The #2 you stated is the Oil Filter Base. It's the base - I don't know what else to call it.

You won't regret the NSX. Just be sure to be patient in finding the right one. Here's a helpful link that will guide you through the purchasing process: http://www.nsxprime.com/wiki/Purchase_Process

I wasn't dissing on the civic but I get every fan boy racer with a souped up civic always talking trash. Its annoying.

uh, civic? seriously? so you can be like everyone else on the road. I swear I see a civic every 3 cars. I will never buy, own, or ride in a civic. They are turning into mustangs now, everyone has one, and most of them are all riced up with big spoilers and only dream of running 15's. Get an NSX, sell everything you own and buy an NSX, I guarantee you that my neck would break if I saw an NSX rather than a civic with nitrous. This is just my opinion.

I'm not sure you should downplay the Civic so much. Done right, they are great cars and reliable to boot. The problem is that they are very easily attainable to the young tuner crowd and the aftermarket supply is plentiful and dirt cheap (talking ebay here). There are so many bodykits out there that ruin the factory lines IMO. However, there are a handful out there that are very tastefully modded and just gorgeous. Of course looks are subjective. I'll probably own one in the future for a daily - but don't worry, I'll hold off on the combat wing spoiler.
