Default base timing

I want to go over the base timing on my car. Just not sure how to do it. I have a timing light. Can anyone give me a quick rundown?

find the 2 pin connector to the right of your glovebox tucked in the corner under your dash near the leading edge of the door. jump it with a paperclip after reaching operating temperature. then set your timing. most hondas are around 16*

obviously you are gonnna loosen your distributor enough to move it, theres a little mark on your crank pulley, hook up timing light to cyl 1 plug wire, red to batt pos and black to ground, shine light on pullley look for mark to line up with pointer when light flashes
