HPC's NSCRA weekend (long story)
After about 6 months of our car not running we decided a couple weeks ago to get it back together for the NSCRA event.
Only downside was that the only motor we had to use was a stock bore/stroke b16 that was about 4 years old. we figured we would throw it together and see what it does. ended up making around 800hp with it. first pass at the local 1/8 mile track it went 6.3@122. i was pretty impressed.
At te same time we were getting another car ready to run. dropped a valve on the dyno 2nd pull.. stock k20 turbo. called everyone and their mother in south florida for a long block and a couple hours later we were already swapping motors out. about 5-6 hours later we had the car back running. start her up and the turbo sounds like there re rocks in it... part of the valve went threw the turbine housing so we said screw it and called it a night...
We get to the track saturday morning and went a 10.0@147 off the trailor missing 4th. with another 6.3 1/8 mile. was fighting shift linkage problems all day. couldnt get the car into gear. missed 2nd on another pass and went 10.4@155. kicked a rod in the top of fourth gear. snapped the rod bolt clean off. we were so beat from not sleeping all week and this just topped it all off so we were just going to give up on the whole weekend...
Our last chance would be to take the turbo off the race car and try it on the k20. yanked the turbo off at the track, still hot as hell.. drove back south an hour and a half. threw the turbo on the k20. we were so tired that a 15 minute thing took us 2-3 hours..lol.. we head back north and get a hotel room at 4am. wake up at 9am to get back to the track.
first pass the car went 10.6@140. stock k20a2 in a 2000 em1. first round i get put against a 10.0 car. got lucky, he broke at the line. and i went 10.4@144. next round a get put against a 9.9 car and he was a no show. 3rd round a went up against Chris Greens Audi. Had to be one of the best races of the event. i cut a .197 light to his .334 i think. we were neck and neck all the way to the end. he went a 9.9@144 to my 10.1@147. he won by .13 or so. after all the bs and sleepless nights we went threw it was well worth it. the car ran great and went a lot further than i thought. well enough talking and here are some pics. thanks to everyone that helped out along the way.

It was definitely a long weekend but well worth it. I was fighting a cold and ended up losing my voice Wednesday. Still feeling like ****, i woke up Thursday morning and only got about 4 hours of total sleep until Sunday night....the same with Fred and Ben. We were all beat but didn't quit and i think we had a good showing considering all the issues.
The whole story is much longer than can or should be told on here but trust me when i tell you, there was a lot of BS that we had to deal with the past month or so. If it wasn't for Ben, Fred, Enrique, Scott & Camillo none of this would've been possible.
Congrats to Jaywest on the new PB...11.52 NA with a bone stock h22 bottom end! Darnell and crew for also having issues and getting his car done in time to make the first rounds of eliminations. TJ, the man who gets everyone set at the line and ready to go while i just sit back and take pics of it all. lol
Also the guys at Charm City blew their headgasket worse than i've ever seen but still busted *** to try and get the car ready...didn't get that 8 second pass this weekend but it's gonna come. Your guys car is one of the cleanest, best running cars out there congrats.
I'll post my pics as soon as they're all edited.

Nice!!!
Great to see others who are down to get cars running no matter what..
It always amazes me how 4 weeks before a race some people can say that they cant make it because the car isnt ready!!
All nighters and no sleep FTW!
Nice times on the stock boosted K!! damn...

not too sure how much its making.. didnt have time to put it on the dyno before the event. last time it was tuned it made 625hp on 26-27 psi. it was around 30-32 psi on the 10.1@147 pass
BTW i wanted to give a big thank you to South Florida Turbo for parking in our spot and refusing to move. We left our trailer in the spot overnight, show up first thing in the morning and their truck is parked in the other half of the spot. After busting our asses all night with no sleep this is what we had to show up to at the track, real classy move.

Jose would be happy
