1990 Honda Accord DX TCM code 6
Hi
I have been having troubles with my accord recently. I just replaced the tcm with a updated model from the honda tsb regarding the bad tcm. It worked at first but then after about 5 mins of driving it reverts back to limp mode. My wife has said that sometimes the indicator light telling you what gear it is in will not come on and she has to giggle the gear selector a little to get it to come back on. Last night I had a eureka moment when we test drove it with the new tcm. I started shifting funny and not wanting to go past 25mph and that is when I noticed the tcm blinking out code 6(six short blinks followed by a pause between it the blinks then repeating). I have looked this up and I says it is an off console switch but haven't had much luck finding any info on what code 6 actually means and what I need to fix to get it working again. What I have found states it connected to the shift interlock solenoid under the center console. Is this what I need to be looking at and if so how exactly would I go about checking it. Also just to note and I am sure it it not connect but the brake lamp light is permanently lit but all brake lights and turn signals work. How would I go about fixing that?? I read it has to do with the e brake switch going bad or low brake fluid. I will check my fluid but if it is still giving me problems could it be a stuck floater switch??? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!!!!

As far as the brake light, which one? There is the little one on the "picture of the car" and then the big one that is just brake. If it is the single brake light, either the e-brake or low fluid.
The TCU? Sorry not much I can help with, def I found is: TCU code 6=Shift Lever Position Switch circuit open. Which explains the light telling you what gear you are in is not working??? Wish I had more.
