I have a 97 civic with a stock d16 engine. I started up my car fine and everything and when i was pushing it hard from 1st going into second it doesn't max out like usual at 7000rpm its at the edge of 65-7, then I shifted to 3rd and it didnt even go, it just coasted and when pressing on the gas pedal nothing happend untill after 5 seconds the gas kicked in finally. Then when slowing down the car dims out and starts to die....any ideas would be great! I hate when my car dies at intersections.

 

well, i have the same problem to a certain extent but mine is different than yours, i would check ignition. check the dizzy the spark plugs the plug wires all that mess. thats just for starters. im sure other people on here would be more help to you than me, but thats what i would start with if i were you.
