Em1/B20v with code 6 - won't go past 4k rpm
hey h-t
ive been having a problem with my em1 with a b16a2. it happened a while back but im really missing my car and i want it to get fixed lol,
so i was driving it around the same day it happened, i just parked came back 30 mins later to go back home the car wouldnt go past 4k when u were on 4k it sounded like u were actually going faster like it was working hard going up and alot of power loss, for some reason i was like oh well ill go b20v did the swap thinking it would fix it, turned on the car and took it for a spin. still had the same problem, switched comps, dizzys, cel is on check the code flashed 6 times and i think the code was for a water temp sensor ill have to check again but just wanted to see if someone had the same prob

Re: Em1 Problem
Hi there...
I friend of mine came to me with a simmilar problem, as it turns out, the plug in that particular sensor was busted. It's commond that because of the intense heat on the engine bay, and the thin cable, some times it cuts from wear from the inside. that is way you have to check the currency of the cable in order to find the problem...
If a ECT (engine coolant sensor) goes bad, the ECU will enrich the mix therefore run like crap. Also VTEC will not engage
Good luck.
