Post Why buy knock-off wheels?

What's up with all these Honda people buying knock off wheels like Rota, xxr, and other replica brands? I mean I've gotta project civic right now, and I'm gonna put some Mugen M7 15x7.5 4x100 on. We all wonder why people are hatin' on the Honda game. It's probally because alot of Honda people buy cheap quality knock off parts. Just saying.

I don't make much money, i'm 18 years old workin at a carwash making $8.30 an hour. But I do alot of odd jobs to help earn extra money. I think the saying "Go big or go home" still exist for Honda owners lol But i never said knock-off wheels dont look good, they just take away from people with Work, spoon, Mugen, Advan Wheels, Ect...

I do agree with you, But it's like stealing the people who save up for months or even years to have the big name wheels. its "swagg stealin" lol. Plus you can get used real JDM wheels for the price of new knock-off's

People do it for the price. People with nice "name brand" rims have more money than most people or the got a deal on them. If you dont mind me asking OP, how much did you pay for your rims?

True, but some people also save up for a while like i did. I got them for $1050 w/tire's that have 90% tread left of em.

Hell, I can afford a lot of the real wheels out there, but not on the roads we have here. Its like a person who has $8K floater wheels on their car
escalade; the only way the driver knows if if he is next to a reflective building or tanker truck.

At over 80mph,no ones REALLY gonna know the difference. And if the roads in the area are that rough, that's just one more bent wheel you have to spend a ton to either repair or replace.

My WORK KAIs are saved for the car show. I'll rock the rotas getting there.

I'm ordering a type-R swap, and gonn boost it. Plus here in Indy it's snowin for the winter so the civic is gona for the winter. Plus It's a rolling shell with M7's, Tein coilovers, EMUSA LCA's. did suspension this past fall, engine/tranny if for winter spring. It's not gonna be a show car, cant stand cars that are all show and no go lol.

it's like spending a grand on a legit mugen valve cover and someone buys the 100 dollar "knock off" they look alike and i guarantee the legit mugen doesn't block oil any better...so the difference you ask? is that the one who bought the knock off has 900 buck to spend where it counts..parts with a purpose

Some just dont have the cash to do it, but if they would just save for a little while longer they could.

Also, think about it, would you rather bend and replace a M7 or a rota? 95% are going to say rota.

Some cannot understand how people spend 2000k+ on MF10's.

Personaly, I am looking to either get Work Emotion CR-Kai or MF8/10's. But there is no way in hell, I would leave them on my car and DD it. They wouldnt last a day. Ill DD on my OEM wheels, and throw the nice ones on, when the weather is nice or something.

A more important question: Why do you care? If it's not your money, why should it matter to you how it's spent? "Just saying."

A thread on this topic is completely pointless. Whether or not you have arguments for not buying knock-off's is irrelevant. No one is going to take information from a thread like this, and be moved to change their ways. They're going to keep on doing what they were going to do, without your consent.

Besides there is actually something worse than knock-off rims;

People who buy shitty/ugly/old *** rims made by a real company, just for the sake of having "real" wheels, and still talk **** about Rotas.

I'm sorry, if you put 15 inch Volk AV3's on your Civic, nobody gives a ****. Just because you got some old BBS's off a 87 VW Wolfsburg amd cleaned 'em don't mean ****.

Its better than any option ,The rims of wire wheels (or "wire spoked wheels") are connected to their hubs by wire spokes. Although these wires are generally stiffer than a typical wire rope and they function mechanically the same as tensioned flexible wires. keeping the rim true while supporting applied loads.

People have replicas because they prefer that to get stolen than some Desmond Regas. Also why bring more attention to yourself if you DD and you live in a thief infested area
