need advice, keep eg w/ rust and fix... or get another
I have a 95 cx
was manufactured in Canada
I live in Arkansas, got this hatch last fall.
it's clean title, never been in any accidents, no bondo, 3 owners,
original paint, not riced out, taken care of- all those are hard enough to find.
with little rust bubbles on rear wells,etc...
Anyhow, I've put a lot into this build, but it's all stuff I could easily take off and put into another hatch.
The other day I took out all the interior again, sideskirts,
today I took off the rear bumper and inspected.
I took pics of everything. I want opinions on my rust,
usually when the wheel well is rusted, the lower part underneath the
plastic side skirts will be ruined with rust.
Mine are beautiful looking. except on the rear passenger side,
My floor driver side rear had a rust spot, (as if liquid puddled up there) and
it just ate right at that one spot and only traveled up a body seal seam as you will see.
I already have the repair quarters that you can buy on fixmyrust.com
and a guy that claims he will do the quarters for $500 or so.....
Anyone who has been through this before please voice your opinion,
Do I fix it because "all" 92-95 civics will have rust even if a person says it has none- they haven't inspected well enough, or have had a paint job done to it covering up the rust.
or do I hope to find a eg with zero rust. which at this time I think will never happen.
here's the photobucket link with several detailed pics I took.
Just veiw it as a slideshow.

here's two links of threads about fixing the rust, and i've studied these
a ton, I just want ppl to see mine and give me advice from their experience.

Im sure any 20 year old car has rust SOMEWHERE haha
If the car came from Canada, it's probably been in some snow and salt.
The photos of the rust you have looks to be very minor rust for a Honda. 500$ is a good deal to replace 1/4s.
You already own this car, it's very clean looking. I would just spend the few bucks and replace the rust on this car. Just my opinion though man.

Depends on how much the trouble is worth to you.
My brother-in-law's EG was in far worse shape than that when he bought it for $900. Rear quarters were rusted really bad, cab corners were rusted bad, it had a bent hood, and hail damage all over the roof. And, it was milano pink.
He spent all summer doing paint and bodywork, and now it looks like it's fresh off the showroom.

If it's worth the time and money to you, then do it.
