Default Harsh Ride Over Bumps

Car: 1999 Honda Civic EX Coupe
Springs / Shocks: OEM Si F/R
No Sway Bars at all

Here's the deal, when I hit rough patches in the road or a sizeable bump it feels harsh. In other words when I'm just crusing it's a smooth ride, but if there's a bump or rough patch then it's kind of like woah where did all that rough ride come from?

The OEM rear spring / shock assembly was recently bought brand new and replaced. Trailing arm bushings are still good. The front shocks have unknown mileage but have passed the leak inspection and the bounce test.

Any ideas?

Could be caused from high tire pressure, or possibly the type of tires.

Bad/old bushings would cause the ride to be a bit harsh too.

Can't really think of anything else.

Try just lowering the tire pressure by like 2-3 psi.

As far as the bushings go, the only ones I haven't replaced are the rear lower control arm (which I don't think would have that great of effect) and the compliance bushings, although I hear the compliance bushings are more of a concern for the 01-05 civics.

Anyone had to replace the compliance bushings?

Update: I've replaced both front compliance bushings and the rear upper control arms.

I still get a really harsh and LOUD ride over bumps. I'm running 32psi in the tires all the way around with 195/55/15 front and 205/50/15.

Any ideas?

I have Michelin Pilot Exalto A/S up front in the 195/55 and Kumho Ecsta ASX 205/50 in the rear.

Do you mean "harsh' as in your car just wobbles all over the place when you run over bumps or patches? Try getting a rear sway bar. You probably need to stiffen up the rear. Get some brand new decent tires as well. That should soften up and smoothen the ride.

Yeah, it's the sensation that the car is going to fall apart. It also seems unusually loud (all the interior is in and nothing is knocking).
