What to do with my crx si
Well I am having no luck selling the crx off. So now I have this car sitting in the back yard that needs a bit of work. I would like to have an auto cross/Track day car but since this one has a b18b in it its automatically into ssm. So I could spend some money and swap the engine as the car is very down on power. Nothing like running against e46 m3s and a few turbo cars that just out run me by a mile. Not on the track but at the auto crosses. Anyways the car needs a ton of work since the head gasket blew on the engine (rad blew up and overheated the engine). The car also need the rack to be adjusted, inner and outer tie rod ends, upper ball joints and maybe lower ones. It also needs the be back on stock shocks as 9k on ebay coilovers that came on the car have caused my slashed tires as the blew the stock shocks out. I have all the parts to fix it but not motivation to fix it as it was the most unreliable car I have ever owned. It also has some frame damage in the front. I know that this car has been in 5 accidents over its life. Three of them were under the original owner that included a rear end collision, a t bone on the passenger side and a front end collision. So what would you guys do with this car. Keep trying to sell it, Fix it then sell it, or make it an all out autocross car?
Keep what u can use and sell the rest.If the b18 is good keep it i wouldnt fix a car with frame damage that's probly why the rack is ****ed.The motor and tranny is what i would save scrape the rest.
Well its light damage in the front. The rack is just normal wear and tear. Car does have 177.8k of very hard miles on it. Engine could be fixed but the trans has a bad 3rd gear. I also need to unbondo the turn signals from the previous idiot of an owner. Nothing like a summer of no turn signals and lights and stop signs. The rest of the car is worth nothing except maybe for the rear discs. Here is a pic and you can see the damage on the passenger side.
autocross the hell out of it till it doesnt move no more. the crx is badass because its small and light. we have our autox's out on hutchinson island in the parking lot of the track. and the b18b1 in the crx is not that slow of a motor. i think it would be worth it, i have the a1. and i keep up with the boosted miata and the ****in r32's times. i say go for it

I have to many cars at the moment. I have this crx, a 1991 Eclipse GSX, and my 1996 Firebird. As for my local auto x the cars that are normally in ssm are a 93 turbo miata. A e46 m3, and a c5 z06. I can beat the miata but the others leave me for dead and usually run 2-3 seconds faster just because of the power. I want to be competitive but since the car is down on power. Even tho it has a full spoon exhaust and a ram air intake. The eclipse runs in esp and could be competitive if I had some slicks. The Firebird is in SM and could be very competitive if it was running.
