so i had an extra gsr 2nd gear laying around, and i had remembered a friend(from synchrotech lol) had told me that you could replace a b series 2nd gear with a gsr gear. he said alot of the guys at the track did it. so i called my friend and tried to figure out what needed to be done.
as far as everything goes, this is what i found out. in order to run a gsr 2nd gear(the series that uses the 3 piece cone synchro) you would need an ls HYDRO(not cable) transmission. these 2 transmissions(gsr and ls) share the same part number and have the same tooth count and pitch and curvature on the gears. their tooth count is 38 for the record. the only thing needed is the gear itself and the 3 piece cone synchro. mate that to your countershaft and resinstall everything, and your done!
just a little bit of info for the site to use.
