i removed what was left of the hose and here's what it looks like.

i was told it goes to the FAST IDLE THERMAL VALVE but i cant find any open connections. this morning when i was letting the car warm up before comin to work i noticed the RPM's jumped to 2K randomly and stayed there (this had never happened before)... then the car started overheating so this is the first hose i saw leaking. please help

it looks like it is for the FITV

people bypass it to keep intake air cool,

depending on where you live its safe to do, but without it, your throttle body valve can freeze in place if your enviroment is too cold

the way people do it is to bypass them, get a hose coupling, idk what its called, and connect that hose to the U-shaped hose you see in the 2nd pic. plug the FITV with a bunch of napkin or something

reason being so you keep coolant flowing through the iatv and corrosion from forming

Dumb question but is that vacuum line on a b16a2? Cause I thinking I got a leak in that line and was wondering if anyone could point it out on hondapartsunlimited?

they arent vacuum lines, their coolant lines.

if you got a vacuum leak try to take pics and make a new thread

ok so i blocked the nozzle where this hose used to go and drove home from work.
i left the car idling in the driveway for about 5mins to see if it overheat or if any coolant leaked but nothing. everything seems to be okay for now -____-

im almost sure those are the coolant lines for the FITV, seeing as the other coolant line runs back around to the IACV and thats a coolant line, i believe its either a 3/4" or 5/8" fitting that you can use to bypass the FITV
