Default True Street (Northeast) for 2011

Who wants to see the True Street Class in the Northeast for 2011?

I do, and will be helping to run 2-3 cars with more possible.

Let's get a vote for the following:

1) IMSTAR / NSCRA events return for 2011

2) OGS (E-Town , Atco) add True Street as a class to their events in 2011

I vote Yes, and Yes.

yes for imstar/nscra/world cup

i would say yes for the other OGS events....however they already have an outlaw style class and a spfwd class, which is pretty much the same damn thing other than big tire / small tire. and true street is pretty much spfwd with a 67. so at that point you have 3 class's that are all the same other than a tire and a turbo size. i think at that point it would either need to be spfwd OR true street.

i also vote OGS has an event at MIR

True Street for us! At least 2-3 customers that already attend true street events will go. Would be killer if OGS would host a 67mm class, or incorporate SFWD and True Street together with weight break or something similar for biasing the class a little. I think the guys running 67's will just end up running in SFWD anyway!

I'm in the process of building my car for t/s, i also know other ppl getting their car setup for the class! They really need to allow 3pc fronts tho, thats one rule that should be changed!!

So everyone wants 3 classes? Outlaw, SFWD and True Street? Is there enough cars? I'm sure there is tons of cars, but I'm talking about one's that actually race...

The problem is, while the potential for sfwd (72mm) cars to go faster is there, the fact is that the bump spot for sfwd at any OGS event has never really been that low. Its usually somewhere in the high 9s.

Even at the shootout, the bump spot for sfwd was not very low.
Very attainable for any sfwd or true street car.

We have some true street cars going 9.0-9.20s now. This isnt very far off the 8.90s that some sfwd cars can run.

No one can deny the fact that true street is a killer class and that the fields are packed at some events.
But at OGS events, would you rather see 2 half filled classes running very similar ETs or one full class?

just make a seperate class for each size turbo

Jake you should also make a seperate class for each displacement at next years N/A shootout

no need to fill classes. besides this way there will be more winners @ each event

Very true! I see why it would be beneficial to only have two classes (outlaw & sfwd) i think if they allowed the 67mm guys to have a weight break in sfwd it would be a fair class. But then again the ppl with 72's will prolly complain?!

Outlaw was only ran at the Spring Nationals, Summer Slam, and Fall Nationals.

So why don't you try True Street for 3 events this season, and see how it goes?

Maybe you will see 16 cars for TS and still have 8 or more for SFWD.

You will have more racers = more money.

We will be there either way, we qualified for "SFWD" in the last 2 Fall Nats.
So don't lump us in with the crybabies, lol

Have true street at the events and combine sfwd and outlaw. If the "sfwd" guys don't wanna race outlaw then change the turbo and race true street.

The 67/ true street or whatever you wanna call it is the best class Gright next to all motor right now. It will have good fields gauranteed at every race.

Alot of the "sfwd" guy of the past have either made the jump to outlaw or down to true street. The few that are left running numbers "sfwd" legal are outlaw cars just with a 24.5" tire. Like I said combine the 72mm turbo classes into one and let the 67mm class roll. I would bet you would have 16 cars true street at each event and 8 car fields for outlaw.
I also think It would be beneficial for a points chase. It gives people incentive to show up to races where they normally would not make it but when you are in the hunt the things you will do. Lol. It also gives the fans somethin o get excited about and follow.

I have a new 67 that is almost done and is on target to be finished sometime in feb. Not to mention the countless other cars we deal with at the shop that are gonna be racing in this class next year.

I couldn't agree more. Sfwd and Outlaw together and run True Street with the 2010 rules - weight break for the 62mm and smaller guys and allow three piece front ends. Also institute a points series. I know there were a couple of times when I was iffy about going down to MIR this year but the points chase made the decision easy. Ideally it would be great to see the points races cover multiple tracks so racers are encouraged to travel (all in the same general area but not just one track).
