It happened mid drive the other day and simply would not engage when the button is pressed and no green cruise light comes on in the cluster either.

I searched, but everything pointed to a speed sensor also killing the speedo which is not the case for me.

Checked the 7.5 fuse under the dash, and the connectors on the plunger unit. Is there a write up for checking the silver cruise unit under the dash?

Did you check the "button" on the clutch switch? Will the car start w/o the clutch pushed in. Just giving something else to check.
