need help replaced my heater core now wont start
i put everything back together but now its like when i start the car its choking and not wanting to start....what can this be??
i started my car last night and it started. then i replaced my thermostat then the 2 hoses for the heatercore.when i started my car i had my radiator drained.but i only turned my car on for not even a second.the thermostat looked different just on the top but every thing looked to be the same.but any ways when i try to start my car it wants to start but right when the car is about to start it chokes out. its kinda like when you are trying to start your car when your out of gas kinda. i dont know if this helped you at all.
In another thread you said you took your whole dash apart to replace the heater core. There probably is a plug not connected, or the hacked wiring harness in your car isn't working and you have some open wires.
Make sure the thermostat housing grounds are connected. Your car wont run without them.

Download the manual from honda hookup. It is for a CRX, so the civic stuff is slightly different, but close enough to figure most of it out.
I highly suggest just buying a factory service manual. They are pretty cheap for what you get out of it on ebay. I think I got mine for $70 including shipping.
There are a couple ground that you might have taken off of the outer thermostat housing when you replace the t-stat. Make sure those are connected.
There isn't going to be a write up on how to fix your harness. It is hacked up, but you can still figure it out if you take your time.

yeah i have a chiltons and it blows i dont like it. but yeah i put the ground back on the thermostat housing and the one on my steering column and i think thats all of the ground wires. the thing is i started the car and it started last night and now its not starting. my co-worker said it might be the batt. but when i started my car could i of messed something up? i didnt have any antifreeze in my radiator or water because i had to drain it to put in the heatercore.

No, you probably didn't hurt anything by starting it without coolant.
Look through the manual, and the FAQ. There is a page about no-start diagnosis. Go through that and then if it still doesn't start, post up what you did.
