Hey guys im new into hondas and trying to learn, anyways my car has a jdm d16 with a p28 ecu. The guy claimed it was boosted but wouldnt there be a jumper harness next to the ecu to connect to ecu ? Should I send the ecu out to get it chipped or tuned for all motor ?is it worth it ? The ecu looks like its never been opened but I dont have much knowledge about these. If anyone can help me out that would be great! thanks

 

First, What year is your car? Take the cover off the ECU youll be able to tell right away if its chipped or not.

 

its a 93. near the ecu there is a white plug and there is a small wire going to both end of the plug how safe is that ?

 

If you can unscrew the lid and take a pic, I'd be happy to tell you if its chipped already. If it is in fact already chipped and has boosted fuel maps, then you will want to source a new chip to put in your p28. If it is stock and your engine is stock, then not really much of a need to have it socketed/chipped.

Yes, the top side. Lay the ECU on a desk with the label writing upright, and unscrew the five screws on the lid
