Best way to attach Christmas wreath to front of car
I'd like to attach a Christmas wreath to the front grill area of my car, but the last car I did it on I scratched up the paint and I don't want to do that to this car. Can someone who's done this before, and knows the best way, share it with me? I hope everyone can understand that I'd rather only people with actual experience respond to this question since this won't be theoretical, and scratches happen quickly, and I don't want to take chances this time. (And if I can't find a scratch-free way then I won't be doing it again until I do.)
And for those who think it's a dumb thing to do (for whatever reason), please refrain from telling me/us why you disagree. I know you may feel strongly and I know you have your reasons.
Thanks all.

I'd recommend a clear mask to protect the paint, but that probably costs a bit more than one might want to invest in just mounting a wreath on the grille of their car.

If the OP wants to do it, he's going to do it.
If you don't like the idea, just think that it makes your car look all that much better than his.
He'd just like help on protecting his paint most of all it seems.
I'd say to steer clear of metal wire and see if you can limit movement as much as possible since that's going to cause scratches and damage. So zip ties and something to protect behind it. If you can find a painters' tape or something similar to those clear masks that would protect well.

People use blue painter's tape to make a front nose mask for long trips. I use it for detailing. It keeps the wax and such off trim. It's made to come off and not leave too much residue.
^The tape is a good idea. The 3m yellow or green masking tape (yellow is less expensive), is made for use one any car molding/paint/etc. It's what's used at my shop for protecting belt moldings, emblems, and things like that so the buffer won't burn or shoot too much residue on them. It's very sturdy, and doesn't get ruined by water easily. None of them leave residue as NOFX said.
Thanks everybody. I'm looking into the tape. Since the tape will have such a loud color, I think I'll put some of my black duct tape on top of it. This will hide the color and give extra protection from rubbing. I don't know how much rain it'll be able to take, but we'll see.
