question on where to start with dizzy issue...
driving on the highway, D15B crx, car shuts off. coasted off highway, tried to start it one time, then towed it home as nothing obvious. no warning before it shut off, the distributor is about 3 years old. would not turn over at all.
speedo needle was bouncing every so often (if that's related). tach needle always solid.
took distributor off, found that the screw came off and rotor was free. screw banged up a bit. put everything back together, and put dizzy back on car. car starts up fine now, but now, get a code 8 and 15 on the ECU. the car idles alright, but sputters with any gas...so, replace the rotor, or the distributor cap? or get an entire dizzy and swap parts over from that?
i did mess up the 3rd cylinder spark plug wire in the process at the distributor connection. internal crimp pulled loose (already ordered a wire set). but as of now, that wire is rigged back together and all wires are giving spark.
so, shoud i buy a rotor cap, or the rotor, or a whole dizzy and just swap. anything to look for in the dizzy, as visually, it looks 100% and all wires are tight and attached. my rotor has a bend in it, looks natural, but maybe it needs to be dead straight (i have nothing to compare it to)?
thanks in advance...
