Bogging below 3k, tried everything!
Hey everybody, I'm back to Honda-tech, this time with a daily commuter CRX!
stock 91 CRX DX, DPFI 1.5l
TPS reads .7 to 4.1 and very smooth with no jumps. I think it's close enough.
I pulled every sensor and plug one at a time, pulling the ECU fuse afterwards for a few seconds to clear memory.
The only thing I've found to actually clear up the problem is pulling the bottom green fuel injector clip. Then, it pulls hard and solid all the way to 4k where I'm either hitting either the limp mode limit from CEL or just running out of fuel since injector is unplugged. (16 blinks, fuel injector, duh)
No CELS or blinking ECU otherwise, I've tried cleaning the injector and even soaked in diesel overnight, still no good. Should I just replace it or have it cleaned?
Thanks,
Alberto

Dpfi injectors are all over the junkyard. You could tool bag 5-10 the next time you get something large. I'm sure there would be a good one in the batch.
Have you checked your cam timing? You may want to try advancing it a tooth... n don't for get to adjust your dizzy whenever you make a cam adjustment.

i have a 95 teg and everyonce in a while it will bog out from like 2k to about 3k but when i stomp the gas it will come out of it. it will do this for a min or 2 then not do it for along while. i have no idea what it could be
Hooked up the timing light, jumped the plug under the dash, couldn't see any marks on pulley. Had to get under the car and rotate crank, riding the edge of pulley with my fingernail till I found the marks. TDC (mark by itself) and then the 3 lines close together. Marked the center one of those with white appliance paint and hit it again with the light. The mark was about 1.5 inches towards the firewall, pulled the distributor towards the radiator max (retard) and shrank that gap to about half an inch.
I used this picture from another thread to understand the marks.

So skipped a tooth on the belt and most likely culprit of my bogging before < 3k after warm up. Am I understanding this correctly? Can I just set the belt timing back where it belongs and tighten with adjuster? Or is that half the job and might as well replace it? Tell me what I don't wanna hear, it's alright.
Thanks!
