been looking for a while now and came across this deal i couldnt pass up.. its a 90 cbr f1, 18k miles, in decent shape..seat needs to be replaced or re-done. but it runs great, Weisco pistons, yoshi exhaust, f2 rear wheel with wider 180 tire (stock is 130).
i just need to do the brakes, chain & sprockets, gonna gear it alil, 14/46..

I like the older gen CBRs. But I never understood why people want wider rear wheel/tire if engine performance were not meant for it.
Wider wheel/tire weight more, rob horsepower, slow handling character and likely effect fuel economy for the worse.

subjectively, it's a more aggressive look

May look better, but will rob from the handling of the bikes in the twistys. There is enough of a difference between 180 & 190 rears, let alone changing from a 130.
Regardless- enjoy and please task the MSF class!!!!

yea the 180 def takes more power and changes handling, but its how the bike came when i got it. i notice the front end needs work, maybe its just the ol skool technology but it doesnt feel very secure on fast turns. so maybe playing with a thicker oil or better springs in the forks may help..
Check how old the front tire is, there should be a 4 digit number on the sidewall, 1408 = 14th week of 2008. If more than 3 yr. old, it might be time for new tire.

yea theyre both 2 yrs old, the tires were recently just installed a month ago, put michelins on front and back. when i got it, it had worn out shinkos. i just got the seat re-wrapped this morning and monday ill sync the carbs. other than that, i still need a new clutch cable and want to change to black shorty levers.
