Wutz up all so I'm gettin back into the Honda scene and currently teying to build my EK hatch. So I see for mirrors most are rockin either the JDM CTR mirrors, Spoon mirrors, and APR mirrors.

For the CTR I'm assuming they are OEM factory and the APR it's self explanatory. But foe the Spoon mirrors.... Wut are you guys rock'n, the real or the fake? And which ever your rock'n where is the best place for me to get some? I've seen a few which physically say they are fakes but how great are the qualities? If your rockin the fakes and it's acceptable quality, where can I pick up a pair?

Help me out plz.... I'm just so unsure what all are my option on the spoon Mirror roate that it's just making me lean more towards the CTR's.

there are also replica CTR mirrors around. many ek sedans use the acura EL mirrors from canada as they are the same as the JDM mirrors minus the power folding option.

i'm also curious about the spoon/"spoon" mirrors... are the real deal JDM ones a hassle to look through on a lhd car?

 

Rockin them Cheap Ebay spoon mirrors on my Integra. Not bad IMO

 

99% of the Spoon mirrors you'll see on here are replicas. The rhd mirrors are the exact same, so line of vision is the same when you adjust them accordingly.

I purchased my set of Spoon mirrors, which I decided not to use because i'd rather have my ctr folding mirrors, weren't too crazy pricey. I think I paid around $160 used which is a great deal, you just need to search around. The real cf ones go for quite a bit more in great cond. My glass is also blue tinted, whereas the replicas are not. The backing plate on the replicas also don't have the gasket type thing behind them.

The thing that sucks about the replicas, is the vision. You can't see much of anything, and they are extremely hit and miss on adjusting correctly. I'd take the ctr mirrors any day now.

What exactly do you mean?Its a Legit question.... I searched and came up with so many post that are "unrelated" to this topic!

The actual question is are all these spoon lookin mirrors that I see in these clean hatches that are posted on this site the real deal or are they replica/fakes? I've tried searching for spoon authentic mirrors used and new and didn't come up with many if any for sale. Yet it seems like the scene is flooded with em'!!!

So how many of these are legit an for the ones that arnt legit, where did they get em' bcuz it seems like there's so decent lookin replica/fakes out there, but where are they from....?

 

I have some real spoon mirrors and love them. Like they all say, it's a bit pricy but worth in my opinion.

 

I have fake SpooN mirrors. I paid $35 for the non-CF version and so far I love them!! They look much better than OEM and visibility is great. I thought visiblity was going to suck but I have no problems. My glass isnt tinted but id rather have it that way, ive seen fake sets out with tinted glass (sorry dapek). Fitment is 10/10.

 

Yours actually clean and from wut I seein my screen they look like thwu fit great. Thts exactly my point. I previously had a fake pair and fitment was horrible and I had to personally apply the glass on the mirror which was a pain the azz to apply correctly.

Yeah and the fact that I ha to put the glass on my self made it even harder to see since it had to precisely be mounted on. Not only that but when I tried removing one of the glass from the mirror when it was mounted wrong, I snapped it. Oh wut a nightmare!!! Lol..

just get ctr power folding mirrors. they look good and if theyre actually functional its a plus. i wired mine up. its a piece of cake. look better than the spoon IMO

 

Same. I also drilled and adjusted the base of my driver and passenger side mirrors for better visibility.

As long as you adjust the base, as done on here by a lot of people, the visibility is excellent.

 

I have fake one's on my EM1. Fitment is perfect, visibility is great, power adjustment works flawlessly, and the glass is slightly tinted. 10/10 in my book.

 

I also have fakes on my EM1. Fit is great, blue tinited, also have the gasket around the glass that was stated above as not being on fakes. Mine dont sit as flush down like the real deals but kinda of stick out but over all they are nice. I can adjust just fine and everything works as OEM would. Never had any problems with them. Picked my non-c/f power set off ebay for like 40...

 

I got mine off ebay, they fit great.

 

I've seen the "gasket" your talking about, and it's not nearly the same. Take a picture of the mirror side as well, is it a wider angle of view? That mounting plate is way off as well.

Might as well get fake ones if numerous parts on the car aren't authentic. Whatever suits your budget. Also, the fake Spoon cf ones are a cf overlay on the outside, whereas the genuine Spoon ones are full cf. Check behind the mirror on the inside. Feel free to go to the Spoon thread in AC.

Some backing plates on the fake are crazy off, and stick out like a sore thumb like on the em1.

I purchased my Spoon replica mirrors from JDMshit.com. Fitment and vision is excellent. Purchased for an EG hatch.
**edit** I purchased the black plastic ones. Because I wanted to paint match and leave the base black.

If I had an EK coupe/hatch, I'd take CTR mirrors all day!

 

Fakes and i love them.

 

also rockin a replica set, paid 40 for a set locally and had the pods paint matched vsm. It took a bit to get used to since the they are quite a bit smaller then the oem units. over all very happy with them and love the look!

 

So far it seams like many are happy with th fakes/replica spoon mirrors. Which leads me to just pull the trigger on a cheap pair of them as a second pair of mirrors. Althought I do know many on eBay are being sold, I don't know what seller to get them from as I know that quality may be differed from seller to seller.

I do think I may pick up a pair of Authentic CTR mirrors but I do want a set of replica spoons that I can sport at the mean time.

For the people that posted above and/or post, do u have a link to the actual seller or retailer that you purchased them from?

 

dont get ctr the mirror wont point in the correct area. get edm ones from a lhd civic.

 

I dont, I bought mine like 5 or 6yrs ago. I just look to see what the sellers reputation is and read the feedback from buyers. You can usually find someone selling knock offs in the f/s section of forums. I dont mind them but wouldnt mind real ones either. Its all in how much you want to spend. At the time I didnt want to spend the money. Now I am thinking of putting my stocks back on. But its not because the mirrors suck or anything but just to change it up again.
