You've tried pretty much everything I would have done. Taking your car to the dealer service department is inevitable especially if it concerns the EPS.
Good luck.
Good luck.
yeah i've checked some of the wires but not all them hopefully that's what it is. but isn't the eps module way in behind the dash. wouldn't like to take that dash apart.
someone told me their are sensors on the steering rack for the eps but not sure what to look for.
its kinda anoying that the steering malfunctioned with no warning at all. i'm thinking its the module or a connection

There is one control unit in the passenger side kick panel, EPS control unit.
I suppose you checked the fuse in the under hood box in the book I have it says fuse number 1 is the power distribution 100A and it shows a 2nd fuse 70A as the EPS.
And the ground connector for the EPS is under the right side of the dash looks like it somewhere near that control box in the kick panel.
Make sure you have a good ground loosen and clean it.

thanks for the help i'm going to try to look at it tomorrow after work. it could be the reason because my 280+ ib friend was with me at the time he might of bumped the kick panel.

well im having some bad luck i took the kick panel off and checked over the wiring to the computer everything looks nice and tight. i'm out of ideas
You did check the fuse right, not just look at it make sure there is power on both contacts.
the book shows relays inside of that control unit, but they might not be replaceable
I do think you might have to go to the dealer to find out just what is wrong.
Take it there and get an estimate, then you will find out what is wrong at least you will know where you stand.

well i brought it to the dealer yesterday i gave them the speech about losing my steering. come to find out it was the eps computer that had fried!
good thing is covered by warenty 100% and its done tomarrow. im happy about that because a buddy of mine gets nothing but trouble from that dealership usually.
thanks for the info guys..

I'm happy you got it for free, I was reading a little about the eps in the book I have here and it says you should never turn the wheel without the car running.
99.9% of the time the problem is not the actual EPS unit but its always the ECU. The ECU controls and determines how much voltage to send to the pump motor based on speed of the vehicle and the turning of the steering wheel. If the ECU fries, basically your Steering unit cannot function properly.
