This would be the peice I need to replace I can order it from the dealer for 130 bucks. I am also wondering if the type r crossmember same as this peice would fit since I herd and seen it is much thicker ... ???
How much do you think a body shop would charge to replace this crossmember ?
All the springs and shocks and a arm peices will be replaced just in case.

Wow thats crazy. Ive never seen that before.
A guy I know replaced his himself. If you have any specific questions I can ask him.

You have to drill out 65 spot welds for it to come out so its prob not going to be too cheap at the bodyshop.

Drill out some holes in the subframe and it goes in.

Welded up.

I hope this helps.

Thank you !!! NICE PICS !!! I will be taking this project on myself. Looks like fun lol. Do you know if the type R crossmember will work to the ej1 ?? the type r seems to look much more thicker and almost identical ? mybe you can ask your buddy HBK Thanks man ....
Holy crap, I have seen them bend after hitting a curb or something, but never tear like that.
I am amazed the LCA or the bolts didnt snap, how fast were you going?
I am by far no expert here, but judging by the amout of spot welds that need to be drilled and re-done it will cost quite a bit to have done. I remeber seeing somewhere it was around $1200 in just labor.

Just make sure you have a good welder to do the job. I would hate to see you going down the freeway and the welds bust, that is a major part of your rear suspension
