Default 1992 Accord clock/radio issues

First of all I hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving.

This problem just started a few days ago. The clock flickers and won't keep time and the cd player(aftermarket sony) also flickers on and off. I have checked the obvious and replaced both the radio/backup fuse and the fuse on the cd player itself. I've read of another member having a similar issue "NOFX"
I believe but I searched and didn't really find anything.

One thing I have done is remove the cd player and harness to see if it was in my wiring which made no difference.

Thank you

Sounds like a loose power wire or ground, something that is on the same circuit as that clock anyway. Recheck all your wires, all you need is a loose ground or a butt connector someone didnt crimp good enough and that will happen.

I just checked everything I know how to check and the problem is still there. I checked all the fuses and everything seems good. Now I've noticed that the clock is not resetting when off. This is hard for me to explain but for example say I set it at 2:00, as long as the key is on it will keep time. Say I take the key out at 2:04 and wait 10 minutes. When I put the key back in it will be at 2:04 or whatever time it was when I shut it off. The radio is not working at all now.

I found the main battery ground disconnected and I hooked it back up with no change.
I am really stumped here.

Okay so I checked to see if I was getting proper voltage and I am. I checked the ground and that seemed good too. I bought another adapter harness and replaced it just to see if it made a difference and it didn't. I also put my pioneer cd player out of my other car just to see and it also won't work. It won't even power up. Is there anything I can do to make a radio work?

Hi, I know this post is a few years old and I don't know if you will ever see this but, I am currently having the same issue and was curious if you ever found out what might be wrong, and what you did to fix it. Thanks so much!
