Is my balancer belt too loose? (F23)
Hey all
Sadly my balancer belt has been off for a while now, so i cannot remember the "correct" tightness. I know it's not supposed to be too tight, but it does look on the loose side to me. I did the adjustments according to the factory manual.
What do you guys think?

I'm no pro with OHC motors but nothing new to an engine in general and only did this once on my mom's honda and prob soon on mine to do the timing belt, but I would say thats loose. I assume you tightened the adjustment nut WHILE you were still spinning the engine over with a ratchet in the normal engine dirtection? That helps take slack out of the belt
I tightened after giving the crankshaft pulley a full turn. I'll re-do it tomorrow and hope it will turn out good. I remember it being slack, but not that much :/
Is this what you did for adjusting the Timing/Balancer belts:
1. TDC motor
2. Loosen the adjusting nut
3. Rotate the cam gears three teeth counter clockwise
4. Tighten the adjusting nut
I did a water/t-belt replacement on my uncle's '94 Accord EX just last weekend, and it went well. The belt wasn't all that tight on there, but thats how it suppose to be like so it doesn't whine/whurring while the engine is running. Good Luck!
