Have a few questions about swapping a K into the teg.

1. Will Kpro pass an OBD2 plug in test? I've heard that when Kpro is used, you can tell it to pass an OBD2 scan. True or False?

2. If I use the factory harness that comes with the engine plus the hasport plug and play sub harness, will that plug up to the matching K-series ECU?

3. If I use the matching stock ECU, will it pass an OBD2 scan?

4. Is it more expense to tune using Kpro then it is Hondata S200?

 

1. i no if you use the hybrid conversion harness it comes with the plug so u can still plug in an obd2 scaner

2.yes but ur going to need the conversion harness to plug into the ecu

3. you going to need a 02-04 ecu with kpro or a ctr ecu

4.and you can only use kpro you cant use s200 with a kswap

My question was, does a tuner charge more to tune a k motor using Kpro then a B-series using S200/chrome/etc

Reason I ask is because a friend of mine said tuners are charging more money to tune k swaps because they are more advanced. Only way to really answer it is to call one, but it's thanksgiving and I'm at work all day and really debating going K, and I guess it's time to really start answering my little questions I have.

 

I tuned my integra using chrome pro... I can tell you thats defitnatly way cheaper... its not necesarily harder on the k series.. but the software and equipment involved just cost more cause its newer... doesnt mean its harder but shops do charge more for k series.

 

im also going to go k swap in my crx but im gonna collect the parts before i even try i know its expensive but ill rock my ls turbo for a year or so

 

I'm loving my LS/VTEC, but I'm really wanting K power.
