Default Transmisson problems

Hey guys looking for some information here or ideas anyway.

The issue:

91 Accord auto, 180,000 miles commuter work car. the tranny has made a whinning sound for couple of years in the lower gears just kept driving it finaly something broke inside. I pulled tranny out and found a local wrecking yard with a used one with 130,000 miles on it cheap. replaced old with new. Worked great for about a week, we had a cold spell of weather coming so I drained coolant and replaced with fresh got very cold that night next morning she did not make it but a mile from home and car "stopped going". I towed it home and started working on it. when cold it will go into reverse and have power no slip, into drive nothing happens, back to reverse it will go into gear does that about 3 times then will not do anything. I replaced the speed sensor and the shift celenionds then double checked that the c-noids were working. disconnected the battery to reset the TCU and made no difference, checked for codes and none. when cold tranny seems to make a whinning sound a little bit for a second but then stops also.

I am VERY mechanicly inclined but not so much on Honda type cars not my field so any help/advise would be great. I have a couple days before my warranty is up on the tranny so i need to figure out if I need to pull it back out and get another one or my money back?

thanks in advance

WIZ

sounds like a serious internal issue. might as well return it and get a replacement for free. better then spending more money on parts.

Did you use the old or new torq converter? And assuming no CEL, if so what is it telling you.

Poorman, new TQ, and there was no CEL's...

I pulled the TCU out this morning and tore it apart it is flawless, I was pissed off enough at this whole situation I just pulled the tranny out. from the time I got the jackstands out till the tranny was on the floor beside the car was a little over 4 hours.

I think I am going to have my old tranny rebuilt, I do not trust used stuff after this journey....
