I got into a side swipe collision last week. Damaged what you see here in the picture provided. The hit took out my retrofitted TYC's and my 18" rim ='(. But anyway is this piece molded into the body or can it be replaced with the same car piece from a scrap yard?

The fender is easily replaced.

Question is, When it took out your 18" rim, did it do any structural damage to your suspention and/or chassis? Having a wheel alignment done will show you if anything is required to be replaced/straightened out in your suspention. That is, if you haven't already done that.

 

Yea I'm not driving it right now and there is a wheel alignment issue. Because I drove it back home with the steelies and its off quite a bit. The reason why I asked is because I'm having insurance issues on it even though its fully insured. So just in case I have to fix it out of my own pocket. But thanks good to know its replaceable.

 

Looks like both that fender and that bulkhead piece need replacing (the bent piece of metal supporting the front of the fender).

I think that bulkhead piece is like 30 bucks, you can double check on Majestic Honda.

 

The body panels and bulkhead/headlight housing are probably the easy parts to replace. I'm guessing that if it was hit hard enough to take out an 18" alloy rim. It's probably hard enough to mess something up under the chassis.

I've seen damage from hitting a curb @ 15-20 MPh take out the lower control arm and the cross member that it connects to. That can get costly to replace. Hard to tell from that picture though. It doesn't look that bad, however, the wheel could be pushed back.

 

Yea the wheel placement/fitment looks fine in the picture but it should definitely be inspected for suspension damage.

 

What would the inner plastic piece be called inside the wheel area that goes above the wheel. That tore off because it caught on to the other guys car.

It's referred to as the Left Front inner fender. Honda part no. 74151-S84-A00

 

you'll need to remove the rocker panel molding to swap the fender. usually have to remove the front screw then tap it forward from the rear and pull it out. you can then twist the clips in the body and pull them out, then reinstall into the rocker molding and push directly onto the car when you are finished with the paint work.

 

go to certifit.com...I damaged the whole front end of my civic....all the parts, bumper, bumper cover, sides stiffener, radiator support, headlights...cost me around 270....OEM is always better and you can find them at scrap yards. but sometimes its hard to find them. Certifits comes primered black....looks cleaner too.
