norcarsol's del sol build!
very much a noob on here but have been a follower for quite some time and finally decided to go ahead and register.i will say this site takes alot of my time just researching and alot of the cars have inspired me on things to do
keep up the good work everybody!
So I just recently picked up a new project(1993 del sol) from a buddy on carolinahondas.com and figured i'd go ahead and start me a build thread to show my progress on it as i go.when i got the car it had a f20b swapped in it.the f20b will be swapped out with a poor man type r,and the entire car will be completely redone.
enjoy and post all comments and opinions good or bad you won't hurt my feelings!![/COLOR]
sorry for such shitty quality pics the majority were taken with an iphone but better ones coming soon!
Future plans for vehicle:
wire/brake/fuel/clutch full bay tuck(in progress)
fresh wheels
rear disc conversion
fully build the b series swap
turbo setup
different suspension setup(is on ebay coils and camber kits good enough for now)
body work and full exterior paint a different color
possibly get shop/company sponsors
and hope for a detailed ad in honda tuning or other magazines
How it was the day i brought it home

pulled the f20 out and traded for this poor man r valve cover will be redone and such but this is how it was when i got it

Then started yanking brake lines and wiring to start prepping for engine bay paint

Dash and ac/heat setup had to come out for proportion valve relocate

Semi Gloss black base coat (rattle can)

Then laid a little splatter over the base coat and several layers of clear to protect it

this is my newest addition to it got some minty s2k leathers and did a complete delsol pan and rail swapover so they're held down by all 4 bolts if you'd like more info or pics on this i have some of the process very easy to do just time consuming

Test Fit have full interior it's just pulled so i could clean everything really good

latest update got brake lines and bulkheads and have about completed the brake tuck

pics are just to mock up lines haven't been tightened down and prop valve not mounted legit yet
Update as of 11/15/2010
tucked headlight harnesses today and reassembled front end
passenger side

driver side

under driver's fender with windshield wiper harness tucked through as well

done for the night

update 11/17/2010 fuse block relocation(shoutout to stevenson_18 for the idea)

that **** wasn't any fun
isn't mounted secure yet but it's in it's location
got bored and decided to go on and do the valve cover
hopefully it won't get messed up dropping the engine in

So still in the process of doing my brake line tuck and ran for my rear lines today drilled up through the exhaust tunnel to run 90 degree bulkheads so i can run my rear brake lines down my center console. and disregard the exhaust hangers as they came on the car like that and will be replaced when it comes down to it but just testing the fitment for now also plan on using a little heat wrap around the lines for protection since it's right near exhaust shouldn't get too hot way back there but keeping it safe also took sheet metal and self tapped it to the frame rail over where the lines cross to protect them from scraping.interior lines and front lines will be ran tomorrow so more pics then but for now...

And here are some other random pics of the car i took on my friend's camera

so that's all my progress so far will be updated regularly with progress
thanks for viewing

i dig the bay idea, i dont quite like how it was done though, splatter looks nice when it doesnt look runny. although i did the idea and props for doing it man, just think you got ancy with it.
yeah should be in soon still gotta tuck the harness on it then it'll be ready to put in
and yeah it's runny because i halfassed it and did all the painting before i grinded all the studs and stuff off then after i grinded them had to paint back over
oh well can't really see the firewall once engine is in
shouldn't be too much longer til it's running i just want it boosted
ugh and i suck at saving money lol

nahh prob gonna wind up stripping the bay before i get the actual car painted
i've got paint for the exterior
it's honda oe pearl metal metallic came on the new accords and stuff
and prob gonna have the engine bay done with that when i get the whole thing done
but that's along way down the road still have alot more to do before i'm worried about that and i don't think the paint that's on it is bad enough to have to paint it quite yet.
