while trying to figure this out i decided to try to understand how the tire size works.
and made this lil chart for myself to see the tire size/wheel size ratio.
the numbers are not diameter but radius(from the center of the wheel to the end of the tire)
so if you want to see of your wheel/tire combo will fit, you measure the distance from your axle nut to the fender and substract the number in the chart. thats the clearance (IN MM) you will get with the wheel/tire combo.
dontknow if its been done before but i couldnt find it so i made one for the most popular wheel tire sizes for honda.
THE NUMBERS ARE ROUNDED UP.
YOU ALSO HAVE TO TAKE INTO ACCOUNT THE OFFSET OF YOUR WHEEL and how much you lowered your car.

if the wheel size tire is not included heres how to calculate.
1) find out the tire dimensions.( ill use a 14in wheel for example)
205/55/14
sidewall height is the fraction of the thread width again in mm.
so 205x.55= 112.75mm is the height of the sidewall for the tire.
2) 14inch wheel equals 355.5mm in diameter, half of that would be 177.5 rounded up.
so your total height of the wheel/ tire would be 177.5+ 112.75 = 290mm (11.4in)
