just became apparent today that the rattling noise is coming from the engine bay area is only when i let go the steering wheel.
a slightest touch and the noise goes away. i have a feeling that my steering rack is busted from the accident and its now finally showing signs of damage.
anyone else had similar problem?

my old da use to do that i would check the heat sheild it might be busted but steering wheel if is shakes but stops when u touch it it could be the steering rack but b4 that rule out all other aspects like check the motor mounts the cat just to verify
mine rattles too but only at like 750 rpm. I just figured it was because of the age and the extra vibration at low idle. the rattle goes away at about 900 rpm and it is also my dash that vibrates. Is this a problem that could be fixed besides turning up the idle or is it normal?

urethane inserts on rear mount and 2 lower front ones.
tranny mount and the driver sude up mount are stock.
i replaced the rear and 2 lower front ones about 3 years ago.
i also replaced both tie rods after the accident and got an allignment done.
steering has just a bit of play,
is there some internal parts of the steering rack that would be damaged?or even the steering column itsself?
i hit the truck and it pushed my driver side wheel all the way to the rgound(truck ran over the bumper with the wheel.
and i turned towards the driveway and hit the curb with pass wheel while trying to avoid it.
