Default my very first long tube header

this is for an all motor drag cavalier (its not real quick just yet). its a 1 3/4" stepped to 1 7/8" with a 4-1 merge made out of mild steel. well except for the collector, its stainless. i was a bit nervous going into this thing but ive gotta say im really impressed and happy with the finished product. i still need to jig it and weld it up but heres some pics of the header, the header installed and the pacesetter header that was on the mock up car. it got really tight in the tunnel but it all clears thank god! on with the pics........

Noob question, is it easy to weld stainless to mild (your collector to primaries)? I'm looking to inheret a big MIG welder and was wondering if thats possible (from a MIG pespective). I was under the impression its not a "good idea" to mix the metal types.

Thanks

red...... thats not to big at all for a car thats going to be making around 200whp in NA form. its should work out great for what hes doing. especially since hes going from a janky pacesetter like pictured above.

west...... tig u can weld them together no problem with 309 stainless filler rod (thanks bells) im not sure about migging it though, nor would i know which wire to go with if u can mig it. bells where are u?

Nice job!!! No excess bends, that's for sure.
309 applies in all forms, SMAW<GMAW<GTAW<FCAW,etc. 309 is designed to join ss to mild or low alloy steel.
