Default changing a lower control arm bushing. need help

Anyone had problems changing one of these. I've lubed it and jammed the sh*t out of it and it still won't come out. Anyone have advice how else to get this bushing out.

you need a shop press to do it, good luck trying with a BFH.

i've used a BFH to knock them out and back in, but it's always been done on a lift. in this case any kind of lube is your enemy. if you're just tryna knock it out, i hope you're hitting it from the inside out and when you're installing them go from the outside in. what you really need is a tool like this http://www.denlorstools.com/home/dt1...ol_sp_651.html

hope this helps!

Thanks guys. Damn I thought I could just knock it out with a hammer. Wish I would have checked here before destroying it then asking how to do it. Lol oh well lessons learned.

yeah a press is needed to do it properly.
heating it and cutting it out is going to ruin the control arm. it will certainly burn off the surrounding paint and then require a repaint.

a balljoint press like the ones you can rent is hardly adequate enough either.

just use a proper press.

ok backing up, are you trying to replace the front lower control arm bushings or the rear trailing arm bushings? the procedure is totally different for both.
