How anybody have any ideas on how to remove it?

Sometimes you can heat it up with a torch (propane torch will do here) and hammer a flat screwdriver in behind and pry. Or you can use a 4 1/2" angle grinder and cut a side out and it'll come off (be careful not to go too deep)
