Ive noticed that a few websites claim the 97 itrs to be slower than the 2000s. Why is that? Also what is the best year of the ITR?

Anything else i should look for when looking to purchase one?

Boils down to the driver really

 

interior...

 

the most aggressive cams are in the 01.

 

same cams in the 00 as well.

 

although the performance differences between the years are negligable.

 

front bumper changed in 98

 

intake cam is differen't, although the intake cam was made more aggresive because of the stricter emissions equipment so any power difference between the two is negligable. Front bumper too and of course colors.

WRONG! The ones with the faux carbon fiber on the dash

get a CW one white is the best well not really all just your preferance but i would def say white but maybe thats cause mine is white i dunno im rambling

 

The best condition one that was well taken care of.

 

Correct me if I get any of this wrong. This is not a complete list, only the most obvious differences.

'00-01 Air conditioning standard equipment, optional in '97-98
'00-01 Rear wiper standard, not available in '97-98
'00-01 Yellow or black, '97-98 white only
'00-01 Gunmetal wheels, '97-98 white
'01 Solid black floor mats standard, '97-00 optional checkered pattern
'00-01 Metal shift ****, '97-98 leather with red stitching

Above applies to U.S. Canada had '99 models and different colors from the States in some years, along with other differences (red seats).

 

I know for sure 98 R's had rear window wipers.

Yes just 97. All 98 here come with the wiper.
