Default noob question about hp and tq gain

i have a da integra, its suppose to have 130hp and 121tq stock but after reasearching i found that on the dyno it gets 118hp and 110tq. so knowing that, has anyone actually dynoed to see how much hp and tq you get adding a cai and a cat back exhaust?

You should be around 125 whp depending on what intake and exhaust. LS motor do not benefit much from simple bolt- ons

My GSR pulled 155Whp with bolt-ons and tune. They said, its normal for a stock GSR engine. I always thought, its more like 170-180. Kinda disappointed...

when you look at engine specs on wikipedia or whatever, youre normally seeing the bhp (brake horsepower) or the horsepower the engine make at the crank. whp, what you see on the dyno is measured at the wheels. you lose hp from the crank to the wheels (more parts turning) which is why its lower.

There have been quite a few threads with dyno results from an intake and exhaust on here over the years.

The reality is, 2 - 5 whp from these bolt on mods, or 10 - 25 whp from these mods and a tune, depending on the exhaust used. It's the tune that benefits the most, not the bolt on parts.

My 91 LS made 125whp with AEM Cold Air, Skunk2 manifold, DC header, and Tanabe cat-back exhaust without a tune. I don't remember what the torque was. Hope this helps.
